I had a blast working with and for my friend Bryan Avigne this past weekend! I had no idea that when I offered to help shoot I would meet a sincerely sweet couple, and would also be in the presence of rock & roll greatness.
Chloe and Jesse were married in Litchfield Country, CT on Chloe’s family property. The house is a stunning and beautifully maintained structure from the 1800′s. Chloe had dreamed of being married there since she was a little girl and was so excited on the wedding day that her dream was coming true! And not just coming true, but also that she was marrying a very caring man with a charming personality. Chloe has an engaging and vibrant personality. At one point she said she loved my ‘spirit’ while working with her, yet, it was her spirit that made me feel so welcomed and adored!
The icing on the cake that day was realizing that one of the guests, Chloe’s uncle, was Roger Daltrey from The Who. I’m still starstruck as I write this blog post!
Rain? What rain? I never noticed it was pouring outside because I was mesmerized by all the glorious details indoors that Alexis made for her wedding!
Bet you couldn’t guess that she was teacher.
More photos of Alexis and Brian to come soon…for now, their details.
Photographed a lovely, intimate wedding this past weekend. Bonus points for being a mile from home, and for my old downstairs neighbors. It was a unique wedding for sure, in my well over 10 years of shooting events I have never had anyone walk down the aisle together (to start the ceremony) while singing a Muppets song. (sing-song voice) Awwesomme!!
Erica and Justin’s wedding took place at the Wianno Club in Osterville on Cape Cod. It was a humid day, but with the ocean backdrop and oodles of fun friends and family by your side who even cares about the humidity, right?
Erica was so relaxed that 30 minutes before she needed to be ready she ordered a grilled cheese sandwich. Her comfort food. I loved her laid back attitude, and her taste in comfort foods! As well, I adored her take on strapless dresses: Why would she want to be tugging at her dress all day? Add some custom cap sleeve/straps to the dress, please! (PS. She was 100% correct, while most stores sell an abundance of sleeveless/strapless dresses, most brides and BM’s end up tugging at the top of the dress unknowingly all day, and it shows in the photos.)
The highlight of the day was their set up of cornhole, a game that I have recently learned about via friends out in the Ohio area but had never seen being played before. Actually, the biggest highlight of the day (for me) was learning that Erica’s mom is a photography teacher. For them to choose me as their photographer is such a wonderful compliment, so a special thank you to Erica’s mom for trusting in me with her daughter’s most special day!
