Michelle and Ken celebrated with a stylish, classy affair in the North End of Boston and at the Harvard Club on Commonwealth Ave. I personally enjoyed doing their bridal party photos in North Square, right next to the Paul Revere House and all the surrounding delicious restaurants, including the famous Mike’s Pastry. With the amount of amazing photos we captured at their engagement session in Newport recently I was super excited for their wedding knowing I would have that many more fun, personality-filled images to present to them! What photographer doesn’t love an email praising their work? Especially one with lots of smiley faces in it, from a couple that is smiling ear to ear, and one that has effectively made me smile ear to ear in return!

Kevin + Jennifer at Stonehurst Paine Estate with Antique Thunderbird

There is nothing I love more than a sporty antique car, enthusiastic couple, and a vintage all-inclusive wedding location. Wait there is actually one more thing I love more; rain that holds off just long enough to let some warm, fall sunshine peek through!

It was such a welcome surprise to hear from Kevin about 6 months ago when he and Jennifer started their search for a wedding photographer. Today, when I saw his face for the first time in about 10 years, I remembered him and his infectious laughter, and wicked sense of humor. It had been a long time since our paths crossed at a bar in Cambridge, MA called the B-Side and an architecture firm down the street. Impressively, he remembered my name all these years from when I was first starting my photo business about 10 years ago. Hopefully, sometime sooner than 10 years, our paths will cross again with the lovely Jennifer by his side! (Ok, our paths will cross a few times in the super near future while we work on albums and such, technicalities!)

Here are a few teasers for the newly weds from their wedding this evening at the Stonehurst Paine Estate in Waltham. You think I may have over-done the amount of photos with the late 1950′s Ford Thunderbird? Nahhhh!

Punk rock flower girl? Or just has an important statement to make? Maybe, “get that camera out of my face”?

Kevin made the wood centerpiece bases, one for every table. Jennifer designed the clay mold for Kevin to follow for his prototype made of stacked plywood. During the process they collaborated with Jeri Soloman of Jeri Floral Design to ensure that their design would work with the fall wildflower theme. Aren’t they absolutely amazing?

My new favorite wedding location? Willowdale Estate. I had been there before, but it’s been a while, and this wedding reminded again me how much I adore that location.

Jenna + Adam’s wicked good wedding in Westport, MA

I met Jenna many months after she booked me. Our first meeting was on a rainy Sunday morning in Westport. I had no idea we would be rock climbing, on the beach, on a stormy day. We spent over an hour talking about the wedding and looking at the sites, all within a mile of each other. I learned that day that Jenna and Adam went out west to Oregon to work on Adam’s grandfather’s vineyard. How exciting, and what a rare and delicious opportunity! That day though, I had no idea how fantabulous the wedding would be. Swing dancing, with a change of outfit for the first dance? Homemade cake, cupcakes, and preserves for the guests? 1,000 good-luck origami cranes made of decorative and recycled papers by Jenna and her family & friends? Adam’s wedding band was made by Jenna? And Adam made the wine that was served during dinner? Nope, didn’t expect any of that! And what a nice surprise it was. Yes, Jenna and Adam, it *was* a wicked good day!

A stylish wedding at the Artists for Humanity Center

I had the honor of working with the super hip Ashley O’Dell this past weekend. Known Ashley for a few years now and have never seen her in action, so it was a real treat to be a part of this wedding with her! The reception took place at the AFH – Artists for Humanity Center in Boston. Awesome venue! If you are looking for something completely different from the norm then this is the place for you!

Kara + Aaron in Ipswich, MA

Kara and Aaron had a lovely outdoor wedding at The Hellenic Center in Ipswich, MA. It was incredibly hot outside, but everyone kept their cool and enjoyed the sunny, July day.

During the ceremony I learned that Kara and Aaron had been dating since high school and had spent a significant amount of time apart while Aaron served overseas. The ceremony included some readings from letters they sent to each other during that time, and they were so touching.

The wedding took place on 4th of July weekend, but the dinner served was a family style Thanksgiving dinner. Fabulous merger of two US holidays, and the food was delicious!
