Down Home Country Wedding (West Virginia)

Elizabeth and Adam had their wedding on the family farm out in West Virginia. The property was was absolutely STUNNING, housing a mill, barn, and home that still had rooms so well preserved you’d swear you were back in the days of colony settling. It was an amazing mix of preservation and renovation, certainly award worthy. The wedding? Casual feel, with simple home made details, and lots of character.

Elizabeth was a bridesmaid in Marisa’s wedding years ago. So naturally I was thrilled to shoot this wedding, and see lots of familiar faces. Just like Elizabeth and Adam, Marisa and Joe’s wedding was exceptionally unique.

I just want you to know as the father of the bride and the proud caretaker of the farm, I think you did an amazing job capturing the moment in your photographs. Your talent is quite obvious, and that requires an eye and a heart. So, well done. I don’t know if I shared with you, but the wedding that Cathie and I had on the farm 32 years ago, on the same weekend in June was to be captured by a good friend of mine who volunteered to be the photographer, but when he got to the farm on that day, he forgot to bring his camera. So, the lesson is…you get what you paid for. In your case, we did it right.

Nantucket on a rainy day

This weekend I went to Nantucket to shoot with a fabulous photographer friend of mine, Zofia. I have never been to Nantucket (gasp) so it was a great excuse to see the island and my photo pal. Of course, it rained almost the whole time I was there, thanks to hurricane season.

The below images were shot with my camera on the ground. Yup, in the wet grass! I wasn’t looking through the lens at all, so it was really fun to see what I had when I got home today. These are my favorites from the burst captured:

St. John – US Virgin Islands

WOW! I just got back from a 5 day excursion to St. John to shoot Rick and Breann’s wedding. I was so lucky to second shoot with Joe Rumore, a fabulous photographer from NYC. It was a top-notch event with an oh-so-welcoming wedding party and guests. I had so much fun with everyone, whether it be swimming, playing the game of truth without the dare, or just chilling and sipping cocktails. An experience to never forget, thanks for having me everyone!

The event was hosted at The Beach Villa on the island of St. John. You’d never know by the photos, but it did rain quite a bit. The rain though knew exactly when to hold off so we could capture each day perfectly.

So here are some of my favorite images. A whole bunch more will be posted in the coming week!

Marvimon in LA, California

Had the amazing opportunity to work with one of California’s (and New York too) cutest and super talented photographers, Britney from Turn Loose the Art. We had a great time scouting out the Santa Monica and Laguna Beach areas while I was there. But even better was being able to work at one of the most unique locations I have ever seen a wedding held at: Marvimon.
